近日，据外媒报道，美国宇航局（nasa）调查发现其在2009年与2011年两次发射失败的卫星竟然采用了不合格的铝材。

据悉，提供这种不合格铝材的公司名为sapa profiles（萨帕铝型材公司） ，该公司在长达近20年的时间内持续伪造了许多不合格铝材的合格证明。

其中一些有缺陷材料被用到nasa的两枚火箭中，当火箭升空后，由于整流罩无法按指令打开，导致火箭箭身过重坠入大气层烧毁，两枚价值7亿美元的卫星因此发射失败。

据nasa调查显示，萨帕铝型材公司在1996年-2006年期间对2000多项检测结果进行了篡改，造假暴露后，该公司又承认在2002年-2015年之间，又伪造了超过4100项测试结果。

而该公司因为造假行为面临着多起民事与刑事诉讼，其实验室负责人已经被判入狱3年 ，该公司母公司被迫向美国政府与其它客户赔偿4600万美元（约合人民币3亿元）。
